I think it is always interesting to see what Wordpress plugins people use on their blogs. So below is a list and short description of the current Wordpress plugins I utilize on The Rookie Blogger:
- Adsense-Deluxe - Allows you to place Google Adsense ads into your posts.
- Akismet - This is probably one of the most popular plugins and it comes default with Wordpress. Aksimet is a spam comment blocker for your blog.
- Favicon Manager - Adds your own favicon (the little dollar sign $ in your browser address bar).
- Feedburner Feedsmith - This plugin takes all possible ways to access your RSS feed and redirects to your Feedburner feed for accurate subscriber tracking.
- Google Analytics for Wordpress - This pluging makes it simple to add your Google Analytic code to your blog - no need to edit any templates.
- Got Banners - Allows you to randomly rotate ads on your site for even exposure.
- Secure and Accessible PHP Contact Form - This is a very powerful and easy to install contact form for your blog with spam protection.
- Sociable - This plugin adds popular social bookmarking sites to the bottom of all your posts.
- Subscribe to Comments - Adds a simple check box for someone commenting on the blog and emails the user if a follow-up comment has been posted.
- Wordpress Automatic Upgrade - This plugin is a lifesaver when you need/want to upgrade to the latest Wordpress version. Very simple to use and my 2 upgrades have been painless.
Here is the list of plugins I currently use here at The Rookie Blogger and I have to say I probably couldn’t get by without most of them. My favorite plugin would have to be Wordpress Automatic Upgrade because of the difficult task it performs for me. What would you add to the list?

Oooo! I’ll try Favicon Manager for sure. Time to time I change themes or redesign them and I always forget to add that favicon code into header.
Thanks for the tip!
I am very thankful of the automatic upgrade plugin too! It saved me a lot of time and sanity.
