Stop Using Annoying Advertising

I really would like this to stop before it gets out of hand.  There is a new plugin called Stripe Ad which has to be one of the most annoying ads I have encountered since frickin pop ups.  Please, I plead you bloggers out there to stop using this plugin.  If you haven’t seen the plugin in action take a look at how this looks below:

Now, I know the ad isn’t as intrusive as a pop up add, but just because John Chow uses it doesn’t mean you have to.  I came across a few posts that agree with me, but this one proves the click through rate is horrible.  It wouldn’t be so bad if once I close out the ad (you do have this option) it comes right back if I reload the page, or move onto a different page.  This is exactly the problem with pop ups - a guy can’t get rid of them and they keep coming back annoying you.  Am I the only one who is annoyed by this plugin?

No I’m not annoyed , but it ain’t going away, didn’t know Chow was using it, but that likely means 1000 others will. As long as there is space on a page someone will find a way to fill it with something that makes money

This would probably suck as an advertising tool, but I can see some other good uses for it. As long as it’s used for temporary measures and not left there forever.
