Sorry in advance if this post is all over the place, but I had a few in celebration of St. Patty’s Day!
As a blogger I think you need to ask yourself something before you even write your first post. Do you want to be “famous” or do you want to “lay low”?
Basically, I have come to realize a couple things in this whole crazy blogging world. Some bloggers are in this game to be famous (and hopefully make some coin on the side) and others are in it to just make money. You should really decide which one you want to be before you get to involved. When I first started out I probably wanted a lot of money and just many a little bit of recognition. Let me be perfectly honest with you - I don’t give a shit about being recognized anymore.
I have decided I just want to make money doing this and not worry about you guys knowing me and wanting to take pictures and post them on your blogs. I don’t care which side you take, but you need to figure it out in the beginning. Court wrote a great post about branding your blog and it was about 7000 words, so I am not going to try and trump that. But, decide if you want to be famous, or just lay low before you get your domain name.
Being a famous blogger will require a brandable domain name and one that is easy to remember. This will be your main blog and you will spend a great deal of time tweaking and writing this blog in hopes of getting famous. You should probably stay out of the whole “make money online” or “blog about blogging” niches because they are oversaturated and will require a whole lot of luck to get famous in.
Here is my suggestion - lay low and get a lot of different domains (hell, even use free blogger blogs) in many different niches. Hit em hard and fast… build links and move on if they don’t work. That’s it! That is my advice for the night.
Don't Forget to Get Your BloggerBands Today!

For me, the goal is to get famous. Not famous as in take-photos-with-big-boys-at-blog-expo-famous, but famous as in being known as an established blog in the industry, one to visit for good advice and a friendly community.
If you do tht well enough, the money will come. Just takes a lot of work, but will keep plugging till I reach the goal. If I don’t… well, I could always sell the blog and use the money for other internet ventures.
Interesting post, btw. You should update more
